Part 2: Beginning Firehouse Scene (Finally!)

THE GHOSTBUSTERS' FACILITY IN DOWNTOWN LA, AT THE SAME TIME AS THE INTRODUCTION

Arden: (phone rings, answers) Ghostbusters. Would your ghost happen to be a poltergeist, free-floating phantasm, ghoul, demon, or - (she listens) No, we do not summon the dead from the grave just so they can tell you where to find their will and testament. (she listens again) I'm sorry you're going to die because of this. This is to get rid of ghosts, not to bring them back. I'm terribly sorry, sir. This is not a selfish business. (she hangs up) Another day, huh? Okay, you get refrigerator privileges to store non-spoil food items; you know what I mean by that, but listen: If you didn't put it in there, don't eat it. Especially if it's got mold growing over it. But if Alexandra, Max, or Isaiah authorizes it, go ahead. They're your bosses now. Listen to every word they say; they'll set you up for success. They're a great group! Alexandra is toying with a pack device in the room upstairs. She's using Max as a subject. Go upstairs and check on them. They'll give you something to do. I'll be here if you need any help.

Player heads upstairs. The three members of GLA are standing in front of a panel of high-tech computers.

Wallace (Alex): Be careful, Isaiah. This device may be a bit dangerous.
Lewis (Isaiah): Danger is our life. Why would we care?
Wallace: We can't afford to lose any more of the crew.
Jonson (Max): I'm a bit worried this will go wrong...
Lewis: Don't worry, Max! Alex knows exactly what she's doing!...Right?
Jonson: I hope.

CUTSCENE

We see Alex fingering a device on Max's Proton Pack. Isaiah stands by, smirking.

Wallace: We'll start at 20% capacity, therefore keeping any burning or tissue damage to a minimum...
Lewis: Alex, if you burn any tissue, do it to the new guy. (gestures to player) You can't use Max...our mortage is in his name.
Wallace: (removes device, sets on table) I suppose you're right.
Jonson: I thought so. What's your name again, kid?
Lewis: No names, Max. I don't want to get too attached to this kid. You remember what happened to the last guy.

Silence. Everyone thinks for a beat.

Lewis: Hey, how come this lump gets all the new materials?
Wallace: He/she's our new Experimental Equipment Technician.
Lewis: He/she gets a new title, too?
Jonson: It means he/she gets to carry around a bunch of untested stuff that, if not handled correctly, could blow him/he r into Florida.
Wallace: (quietly) I remember dealing with people like this...except I was the cadet.
Lewis: So this greenhorn gets to cary around a bunch of stuff that could potentially blow us into Florida. Thanks. (smirks) Keep the title, kid. It'll work hard for you.

Suddenly, the building shakes. Everyone else shakes. It stops suddenly.

Wallace: Was that us?
Jonson: I bet it was a Psi energy pulse. Isaiah, get a scan! Must've been a psychokinetic energy pulse, a level seven or more!

Arden comes up the stairs.

Wallace: Come on, we need to head downstais -
Arden: I know the answer, but I'm going to ask anyway: Is a Level Seven...whatever, bad or really bad?
Wallace: On a scale of one to ten, I'd say it's -
Lewis: No, no, wait, let me guess...it's a seven.
Wallace: Come on, we need to head as fast as we - (her radio crackles) hold on, guys.
Ray Stantz (on radio): Hey Wallace - are you there? Do you have a problem? We heard rumbling.
Wallace: Yes, we're fine. We just experienced a Level Seven energy pulse.
Stantz (on radio): Wow! That's - (a scream is heard on his end) Oh no! Slimer's escaped again!
Wallace: (groans) We'll get to it. It's a good job start for our recruit.
Stantz (o.r.): You have a recruit already?
Wallace: ...Yes. Isaiah's being a bit harsh on him/her, though.
Stantz: I bet you remember busting ghosts as our team's cadet!
Wallace: (recollecting) How could I forget?
Stantz: Are you free to capture him?
Wallace: We'll get right to it! (puts radio away) Slimer's escaped!

Lewis and Jonson slap their foreheads.

Lewis: Not again.
Jonson: Where to, Alex?
Wallace: Straight to the The Wolf's Lodge - there's an EPA buffet tonight. No way he could pass that up.

(END THIS SCENE)

Character Description #7: Sara Adrich

Sara is an expert on the worshippers of a demigod named Klaxxe (Shandor). She is one of the catalysts of the story, accidentally causing the ghosts to start gaining power and make the "boss" gods really mad. SPOILER ALERT!!! Just kidding. I'm not telling you anything...all I'm saying is she's related to someone in the story. She can sometimes be witty and always knows what to say, but she cracks under pressure. Your typical damsel-in-distress, except she's not always grateful to everyone throught the story.

Character Description #6: Arden Snow

Arden is Ghostbusters LA's secretary and Max's girl. Unlike Janine of Ghostbusters New York fame, she does not sound bored or quick-tongued, but she can help people if they need it. She doesn't hate her job at all! She receives a 5% comission on every job they get. The team members each receive 15%, the cadet earns 10%, which leaves about 25% for upgrading equipment and GLA headquarters.

Character Description #4: Anthony "Tony" Walters

The newest member of Ghostbusters LA, Tony is one of those people who always asks questions. He can tell when his comrades are feeling a little weary, and he'll crack a joke to make them chuckle and get back on track. In addition, he built the Ecto-2 (along with Max and Alex) and Aqua-Ecto-1 for the crew's use. Before coming to Ghostbusters, Tony was a cashier at a store in New York when the walls suddenly began to bleed. While all of the other people ran out, he just stood watching it come down. The building crumbled down on top of him. He was later rescued by GLA and offered a job "to avenge himself". At first he was a little resistant, but after a briefing, he lost the jitters and was hired. Gozer returned in his woman form (from Ghostbusters the Movie 1) and Tony helped assist GLA. They sent Gozer back to his realm just as soon as he came. Tony sometimes makes people do spit-takes, but he can be serious when duty calls.

Character Description #3: Isaiah Lewis

Isaiah is whom most of his comrades call "The Ego". Similar but not exactly like Peter Venkman, he is a coward at heart and only goes into a situation if Alex gives him a suspicious look or Max pushes him along. In addition, he considers himself a "ladies' man" and joined Ghostbusters Los Angeles to meet more women. Some have said he has truly fallen in love with Alexandra (although it's a one-way love) and joined GLA to get with her...who knows? His main priority is keeping citizens (mostly beautiful ladies in distress).

Character Description #2: Maxwell Jonson

Max is the co-founder of Ghostbusters LA and also a big fan of Ghostbusters. He is what fans call the "Dr. Stantz" of Ghostbusters LA - always eager to please and daring. Most of his time is spent developing new equipment for the crew to make their job easier. Max and Alex were childhood friends in Los Angeles until Max moved to New York in junior high. When Alex was looking for people wanting to be a real Ghostbuster, she was estatic to meet up with Max again. Max said yes to being the co-leader of GLA. Sometimes, though, Max can be a bit too daring, sometimes putting him and his companions deep into danger. Most of the time, though, they survive and conquer the danger. Also, he's a firm believer in the odds of a battle; he will do his best to even or eliminate the odds of his opponet so he can win.

Character Description #1: Alexandra Wallace

Alex is the leader and creator of Ghostbusters Los Angeles, the first branch of the Ghostbusters. (In addition, she's a big fan of the first Ghostbusters.) Before being hired as an "experimental equipment technician" for Ghostbusters, Alex was a waitress at a restaurant in New York City until rumors started flying about her and one of her co-workers. She was soon fired. But soon, she decided to apply for a job with the Ghostbusters, and with a great resume, she was hired quickly. This job was brief, lasting a few nights, and in that short time, Alex battled many ghosts to stop the coming of Ivo Shandor, the Architect. Ray Stantz, one of the members of the team, offered to her a chance to start a new branch of Ghostbusters and "be your own boss". She happily agreed! Thus was born Ghostbusters LA. Soon, she decided to hire more people to get her job done easier. Clients of her branch of Ghostbusters note that she's smart, and some who've seen the Ghostbusters in NY say she's like Dr. Spengler, and Alex agrees. However, one may also note that she spends most of her time studying Tobin's Spirit Guide and the supernatural rather than designing more equipment. Although cautious at times, her mood usually shows what is about to happen - for example, once she was really mad because she thought she was going to lose a game of cards with her sister, who was visiting her before all this happened, and she did lose. Alex isn't sure yet, but she thinks she may be psychic.
